After reading other peoples blogs and seeing all the followers they have, I am beginning to think MY BLOG SUCKS!!!
I know I don't get to blog all that much. I try, but there is always something else going on. Baby, work, baby, cooking, baby, cleaning, baby, baby, baby, sleep. That's pretty much my day from start to finish. Sometimes I leave the cleaning for hubby but usually it's all me. So I guess I will try to put forth more effort to making my blog better.
A while back I blogged about wanting to have my bed back. My 9 month old (10 months in a few days) had been ending up in my bed everynight since she starting teething. So to start the new year off I decided to do whatever it took to get my daughter to sleep in her own bed. I am proud to say ( and hopefully I'm not speaking to soon) that after about 4 or 5 nights of her crying herself to sleep, she is now spending the entire night in her bed. Of course the first night was the toughest. She SCREAMED for an hour. It was the worst hour of my life. I sat up and bed and cried with her. Hubby just put a pillow over his head and fell asleep. (freaking amazing) The next couple of nights she cried for less and less time. Now we have us a little routine. I feed her, hubby bathes her, they play together while I clean up. I fix her a bottle, read her a story while rocking her in her room, then I tell her I love her and will see her in the morning, kiss her, give her her binky and put her in her bed and cover her up. She cries for only a minute or two and she falls asleep. After about 30 minutes, I go in to check on her, cover her back up and kiss her again. It's been great. Hopefully we can keep this going. All of us are better in the morning for it.
As far as her naps during the day.......we are still working on those. Since I work out of my parents house, she comes with me to work everyday. She absolutely hates to take a nap. She will fall asleep while I rock her and as soon as I put her in the pak n play she is awake again. I tried letting her cry herself to sleep for her naps but that just doesn't work. She will scream all damn day. But, as long as she sleeps in her own bed at night, I'm willing to continue to work on the naps.
Not only is she sleeping in her own bed, she has also cut another tooth. She says "tis" and "dat"which is "this" and "that", she fusses at you and waves her hand in the air like shes italian. (well she is a little italian), and I've started giving her big people food, like mash potatoes, cooked broccoli, greenbeans, mac n cheese, oatmeal, and yogart which she freaking loves. When I feed her yogart she smacks her lips together and makes little "mmm" sounds. Its so cute.
ok so my next blog with be about something other than my child. I promise.

Merry Christmas...a week late!!
So I know I'm about a week late but Christmas was great! It was P's 1st Christmas. Since she is so young and everyone else was buying so much for her, I have to admit that B and I took the cheap road this year, since she won't really remember. I bought her a few little toys, a couple of books and some clothes. I let everyone else get her the toys. She got a toy stroller that she can push behind an dlearn to walk. and she got a little car that she can either stand up and push or sit and ride. It's adorable. She also got some stackable cups which she loves cause they make a noise when she bangs them together. She also got more clothes, toys, baby dolls and money, which we opened her a savings account with. We got to visit with family and friends some of who have never met P yet. I can't wait for next Christmas when P is a little older and she will have so much more fun. My computer is acting up so I will try and post some photos later.
Tonight is New Year's Eve and we have a few parties to attend. My inlaws are babysitting for us so we can have an adult night. I'm excited but a big part of me feels bad for not spending P's 1st New Years Eve with her. I know she is only 9 months old and won't remember, but since she has been waking up several times a night, I'm sure she will be up @ midnight to see the fireworks. I hope this guilt doesn't ruin my adult night.
Tomorrow or friday I'll post another blog with my New Years Resolutions. Should be very interesting.
Happy New Year!!

The last two weeks.......
These last two weeks have been very busy & unusual. Lets see if I can catch you up on all the stuff that has happened or that we have done. The first saturday of this month I took Peyt to her first parade. It was the Christmas parade in my city. Short - is about the best word to discride it. Peyt didn't really do much. She is still a little young to realize whats going on. She did like the loud noise that the fire trucks made when passing by. We didn't catch much cause they didn't throw much. Just candy really and Peyt is a little young for now & laters.
Last week was the busiest. My husband stood in a wedding so we had to do the normal wedding parties. To our surprise we woke up to SNOW in the day of the rehearsal. Not just a few flurries of snow.....I'm talking about 9 inches of snow fell in my yard.
I lost power for hours. Trees & limbs were falling down everywhere. It actually started to get a little scary. I got my mom and dad to come pick up Me & Peyt since they had a backup generator and the heater going. It was starting to get way to cold in my house. Hubby had to work in these conditions. Fedex never stops!! This I don't think has ever happened in southeast louisiana!! It was beautiful!!
How nice that is snowed for Peyt's 1st Christmas season. I let her play in the snow for just a few minutes.
Needless to say Peyt and I didn't make the rehearsal party. I didn't want to drive on the slick roads and take her out in that weather. So hubby went alone.
Saturday night my mom babysat and B & I went to the wedding. It was.........well, a wedding. If you've been to one, you've been to a million. Nothing overly exciting.
Sunday we went to the mall with our cousin's took santa pictures. Peyt did so GOOD! She just sat there and smiled, stuck her tongue out and kept looking at santa like she's been knowing him forever. I'm sure next year she'll cry.
Now, last thursday we had 9 inches of snow and today I'm wearing flip flops!! GO FIGURE!!!!

I WANT MY DAMN BED BACK!!
For the last several weeks...well going on several months now, my daughter has been waking up in the middle of the night. It all started with those damn teeth. She used to sleep 10 & 12 hours a night straight through & in her own bed. Now, when she wakes up @ 3am, she always ends up in my bed. At first this was ok with me. We all get sleep & we get to cuddle. Now I've had enough. I WANT MY DAMN BED BACK! I know that we have it VERY good compared to the horror stories we've been told by other friends or family with young one's right now and for that I am thankful, but when you get used to having things being one way for so long and then over night they changed.......you start to lose your mind. At least I am. I try so hard to rock her back to sleep and put her back in her bed, but the second her body touches her matress she wakes up and starts crying. I deal with this for anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours a night, until finally me or my husband justs puts her back in bed with us. The thing that really hurts me, is that I find myself getting SO irritated with my daughter. Why won't she just go back to sleep? Is it still her teeth? Is it this cold she seems to have? Is she just used to sleeping with us? Does she have gas? Is she hungry? Does something hurt her? I keep reading that @ this age I should be letting her self soothe. Well, whoever wrote that shit probably has no children. If I try to let her cry herself back to sleep, she just starts SCREAMING crying, you can hear her voice cracking, and she will just keep going until someone picks her up and if I let it go on for longer than 5 or 10 minutes I feel like a horrible mother. What the hell am I supposed to do?

Tears for a friend!
Last night I fell back into the normal weekday routine after a long holiday weekend. Came home from work, feed the baby, cooked dinner, did a few chores around the house and began to get ready for bed. Then I received a phone call that devastated me. A very close friend called to tell me her husband has cancer. I knew he had recently had a few medical issues, but this was the last thing I expected to hear. He is only 32, has always been in great shape & health. He is a great husband and father. I don't wish this sickness on anyone, but this family does not deserve this. The positive part of this (if there can be a positive part) is that he is young & heathly and the cancer he has has a 80% remission rate, which is great. He has some more testing to do next week & will start chemo soon. I have let my friend know that I will be here for her & her family @ any time of the day or night and will do anything I can to help. My prayers will include them until this rocky road is over. This makes me very sad and make me cry. Today my tears are for my friend. I love u!!

I'VE BEEN TAGGED!!
ok, i can't figure out how to tag people, which doesn't really matter cause i only know one person that blogs anyway and she tagged me. So here are the answers to the questions.
1. What is your funniest childhood story? is there something wrong with me that nothing really sticks out in my head. i'm sure days from now, i'll think of something.
2. What would your dream dress look like if you could design it? it would be a long, semi beaded, red dress. sleeveless and i would like skinny and gorgeous in it.
3. What weird habit does your hubby have? he doesn't take off one piece of clothing at a time so when i do laundry, i have to take his undies and his socks out of his jeans, and seperate his shirts if he wears more than one. irritates me to no end.
4. How many cookbooks are in your kitchen? 4 or 5 and i use all of them.
5. Granny panties or loyal Victoria's Secret girl? No granny panties. i used to be loyal to VS, but I've been finding just as cute and nice from target and their cheaper
6. My favorite memory from 2008 so far is...hands down, the birth of my daughter. It was also the scariest memory, due to emergency Csection.
7. I secretly...flushed my granny's keys down the toilet when i was young and she still has no idea it was me. That's what she got for not letting me ride my bike.
8. I could really go for... starbucks.
9. We are going to have a big snow storm and you will find me...same as kelly...freaking, since i live in louisiana.
10. I knew he was the one... when i realized i could be my normal, silly self around him and not feel weird. (cause he's just as goofy)
